This is the Basshunter track "Now your'e gone".
This track is similar to mine not because of the full  plot of the video, however there are parts to the video that are similar. It is more because of the type of song. The genre of song is similar to mine because like mine, it has a European sound to it and there aren't very many words.

The lyrics to the song are the chorus song through in an anthemic way with the rest of the track being the dance instrumental similar to my song "Be Free" where the lyrics are also only the chorus.

There are parts of the plot which share the similar theme to my video. The characters in the video(Especially the girl) are trying to get back on their feet after a break-up in their relationship and because of this, they've both decided to be free for the night and let go of all the stress of their relationship.

The choice of colour for the costumes are very showy and bright. Bright colours are in a way a symbol of freedom as in wearing whatever shiny and colourful outfit you want instead of the same depressing grey or black for the entire outfit.

This is the Basshunter track "All I ever wanted" The song much like the "Now your'e gone" is similar to mine because of the track more so than the video. The track consists of the chorus being song in an anthemic way with most of the track consisting of lyrics. Much like mine.

The song has a European dance floor sound and it is one that is a club dance classic. My song also has a European club dance sound to it as well.

Throughout most of this video, particularly at the very start, the narrative of the on screen story is directly linked with the lyrics being sung. For example, we see a girl looking at and holding pictures of her ex boyfriend, whilst the lyrics at that moment are “pictures on the wall”. This clearly reinforces what the lyrics are trying to say, and the negative emotions that they are portraying. Within this narrative, there is no lip syncing to the music, meaning the story relies on the sound of the beat and lyrics along with the acting along.

The editing of this music video is linked as well with the beat of the music, generally, as the beat speeds up, as does the speed of the editing. So in this case, it begins slow, speeds up, slows down again, speeds up for the club scene, and then slows does to a fade for the ending.

There are a lot of close up shots of girls holding each other and dancing, highlighting their youngish age, but also the role of women in a lot of these ‘dance’ music videos. At this stage, where they are dancing together, they are not adding anything to the storyline, they seem to be used for their attractiveness, which seems to be the norm in a lot of dance videos.

This video is a good similar product because it is the same genre as my song and I like how the editing links with the instrumental. For my music video I will want to use this as inspiration, for example if a section of it is louder, then I will use shots that have more aggressive dancing than others.

This is the video of the Lady Gaga song Just dance from her album The Fame. The song is about dancing and being free due to being intoxicated at a club.

This is at first different to my idea of a video because in my video my character is choosing not to go to a club. However the lyrics of "Just dance, gonna be okay" still show an idea of being free. Also is the part of the video where the scenes show various people kissing, and then it goes to Lady Gaga turning down someone so she can carry on dancing. This fits in to my video idea of not doing what other people are doing.

In the video she is wearing a bright coloured top to bring attention to herself. In my video my character will be wearing a bright red and white jacket which looks good on while dancing in a modern urban style.

Most of the shots in this video ware central frame shots. This is used as it not only shows the characters in the video dancing using the objects around them.

This is the David Guetta song featuring Usher called Without You. This is similar to my song because it is of a similar Pop-Dance genre. It is also similar in that the lyrics are very limited to a few lines and a repitition of "Without You".

The video shows Usher on his own singing during the bits of the song that are low in volume and match the lyrics of "I will never be the same withouth you". He sings this during the quieter parts of the song to show he is emotionally hurt from a break up.

During the choruses he is performing in front of a large, partying crowd. The beat is louder and more instrumentals are added in to the chorus. The partying croud and heavy atmosphere help to showcase the difference from Usher's sadness to him going all out partying with the croud.

New Narrative

At the start of the video my character receives a text from a friend that talks about going on a night out with them. This is something that my character thinks a little about a decision. He then opens his wardrobe and looks through potential clothes to wear. He spots his red jacket and then the camera zooms into his forehead and the set changes from his wardrobe to him dancing with the red jacket on him. He will be dancing in front of a crowd, and then the set changes back to his face. This shows that the dancing that just happened was in his head and it is what encouraged him to make the decision to stay at home.

Following his decision to stay at home, his receives text messages from friends telling him about what he could be missing out on. However he is happy to miss out on these things as he just wants to have a night in to himself and not always have to go somewhere because other people are. He responds to the texts saying he is not up to it.

The dance scene is going to be similar to the Tom Cruise dance scene in Risky Business as I will be making reference to it, even showing my character watching it on the internet before dancing.

My character will be wearing the red jacket that he had imagined himself wearing before while singing along to the lyrics of be free. The song and video go well as my character is being free by himself whereas he would not have been if he went out.

My video ends with the character doing a epic pose his dancing. He then goes back to his normal activities like using the internet. He watches a new video and imagines himself dancing like the video. The camera then does another close-up on his face and shows him happy about the thought of dancing again.

New song choice

http://www.unsignedbandweb.com/DanceMusic-2.html
This is the song I chose from unsignedbandsweb.com. The name of the song is Be free and the artist Morano. To use this I first needed to ask for the artist's permission to use the song for my music video.
This is a print screen of the email as proof that I have sent this email asking for his permission.

This is the film risky business business staring Tom Cruise. In this scene of the video Tom Cruise is enjoying some time to himself and dancing to some loud music. In my video my character very much does the same.

This is a good video to research into because of the casualness of his clothing. Just a shirt on over his boxers really does say something about what it is he is planning and that is he doesn't really want to do anything else.

The camera angle throughout most of this is a central frame. This is good for the scene as it allows the surrounding area to be shown and works in Tom Cruise's favour because all the surrounding area is, is part of his house. It shows nothing different from what you would expect from a house. Staircases, dining table fireplace e.t.c. The audience watching this will be able to relate to this because plenty of people have danced at home to music when they were alone.

In my video, I want to use this kind of sequence to make my dance scene for normal while being interesting for an audience. During the scene I will make reference to this video with specific dance moves for my character to perform that was done in the original scene while maybe even showing my character watching this scene.
